PAK vs BAN (3rd T20I) – Highlights
In a dominant performance at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, PAK overwhelmed BAN by 74 runs in the third T20I to wrap up the series on a high. Pakistan’s dominant victory not only secured the series but also underscored the cracks in Bangladesh’s top and middle order. The home team crumbled to 104 all out in reply to Pakistan’s imposing 178/7, handing the visitors a one-sided win under the lights in Dhaka.
Batting first, PAK got off to a flying start courtesy of Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub. The pair added 82 runs inside eight overs, putting immense pressure on the Bangladesh bowlers early on. Farhan, in particular, was in sublime touch, smashing 63 off just 41 deliveries, decorated with six boundaries and five sixes. It was his aggressive mindset that built the base for a commanding innings. While Saim Ayub contributed 21 off 15, it was Hasan Nawaz who provided the late impetus, blasting 33 from just 17 balls at a strike rate of 194.
Although BAN managed to pull things back momentarily with wickets in the middle overs—courtesy of Nasum Ahmed’s tight spell of 2 for 22 and Taskin Ahmed’s triple strike—Pakistan’s lower order chipped in with handy runs. Mohammad Nawaz’s cameo of 27 from 16 balls, which included two sixes, propelled the visitors to a healthy 178/7. The late breakthroughs couldn’t mask Bangladesh’s erratic bowling, which included nine wides and a no-ball over the course of 20 overs.
Chasing a challenging target, Bangladesh’s innings fell apart almost immediately. Tanzid Hasan’s dismissal on the second ball set the tone for a disastrous collapse. By the fifth over, they had lost half their side with just 25 on the board. Salman Mirza ripped through the top order, claiming three wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs, including the scalps of Tanzid, Jaker Ali, and Mahedi Hasan. Faheem Ashraf also joined the carnage with two wickets in his short two-over burst.
While Mohammad Saifuddin showed some resistance with a fighting 35 not out off 34 balls, the rest of the batting offered little to no support. Nasum Ahmed chipped in with 13, but the lower order merely delayed the inevitable. With a tidy spell of 2 for 4 in 1.4 overs, Mohammad Nawaz cleaned up the tail and brought the innings to a swift end at 104 in 16.4 overs.
This emphatic win showcased Pakistan’s all-round depth, from their aggressive top-order batting to a clinical bowling display. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be left to reflect on a batting performance that lacked application, intent, and temperament, especially on home soil.
