TSK vs SO (28th Match) – Highlights

The Super Kings lit up Lauderhill like a Fourth of July firework, leaving the Orcas floundering in their wake. It was a match where experience met execution, and Faf du Plessis once again proved why he’s still a force to be reckoned with in franchise cricket.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Texas Super Kings set a daunting target of 189 runs, finishing their innings at 188 for 4. Their innings was anchored by a masterclass from skipper Faf du Plessis, who scored a sensational 91 off just 52 deliveries. The veteran South African struck six boundaries and cleared the ropes four times, pacing his innings beautifully before retiring out at the end of the 19th over. His calculated aggression gave Texas the early impetus and laid the foundation for a strong total.

While Patel gave the innings a polite nudge, Ranjane turned it into a composed masterclass—unbeaten, unfazed, and utterly in control. His knock, laced with four boundaries and three sixes, ensured Texas didn’t lose momentum after du Plessis walked off. Seattle’s bowling, however, lacked sting, with none of the bowlers able to find breakthroughs at regular intervals. Jasdeep Singh and Cameron Gannon picked up a wicket each, but they, along with Sikandar Raza and Kyle Mayers, were taken to the cleaners.

Seattle’s reply stuttered like a cold engine, never quite finding the gear to chase down the total. Losing wickets at regular intervals and never building a threatening partnership, they folded for 137 in 18.4 overs. Adam Milne was the destroyer-in-chief, claiming a sensational five-wicket haul. The Kiwi pacer bowled with pace and precision, ending with figures of 5 for 23 in 3.4 overs, breaking the back of Seattle’s middle and lower order.

Kyle Mayers provided a decent start for Seattle, scoring 35 off 28, but once he fell, the innings lost its way. David Warner couldn’t find fluency and departed early for 9, while the likes of Shayan Jahangir and Aaron Jones failed to make an impact. Shimron Hetmyer threatened briefly with a brisk 26, and Sikandar Raza added 23, but neither could keep the chase alive. Harmeet Singh swung his bat for a quick 15, but it was too little, too late.

TSK’s bowling unit was a symphony of destruction—Milne played lead violin while Noor and Akeal struck the final notes. Noor’s sharp spin and Hosein’s disciplined lines kept the pressure tight, ensuring there was no late comeback from Seattle.

With this victory, Texas reinforced their position at the top of the table and looked every bit the tournament favorites. Faf du Plessis rightly walked away with the Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock, while Adam Milne’s five-wicket haul will go down as one of the finest spells of the season.
