Saud hammered 42 not out from only 20 balls, while Allen matched him stroke-for-stroke, smashing 45* off 21 deliveries, including five towering sixes. Their unbroken opening stand of 90 runs came in a blink — just 6.5 overs — as they wrapped up the chase without losing a wicket.
Multan’s bowlers were left helpless, unable to apply any pressure. David Willey, Mohammad Hasnain, Ubaid Shah, and Usama Mir all leaked runs at alarming rates, failing to break the momentum of the blazing Gladiators’ openers. The Sultans looked out of ideas and energy, completely outplayed in all departments.
Khurram Shahzad was rightly awarded the Player of the Match for his impactful bowling effort that set the tone for Quetta’s dominance. His early breakthroughs shattered Multan’s backbone and paved the way for an effortless run chase.
The emphatic win gave Quetta a major boost in their net run rate and sent a strong signal to the rest of the teams. Multan Sultans are left to reflect on their inadequate batting and excessive dependence on Rizwan. With the business end of the tournament approaching, they will need urgent answers and stronger performances. Quetta, on the other hand, will take plenty of confidence from this crushing win as they continue their charge toward the playoffs.
