PAK vs IND (6th Match) – Highlights

The much-anticipated clash between PAK and IND in the 6th Match of Group A at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium delivered excitement and high drama, but ultimately, it was India who came out on top with a convincing seven-wicket victory. Chasing a modest target of 128, the Indian batting lineup displayed composure and aggression in equal measure, guided by a brilliant performance from Kuldeep Yadav with the ball, who was named Player of the Match.

PAK innings got off to a disastrous start as Saim Ayub was dismissed for a duck in the very first over, leaving the team reeling early on. Despite this setback, Sahibzada Farhan tried to anchor the innings, playing a gritty knock of 40 off 44 deliveries. Fakhar Zaman contributed with a brisk 17, but the middle order struggled to accelerate the run rate. Salman Agha, the captain, fell cheaply for just 3, and Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz added little to the scoreboard. The tail-enders showed some fight, with Shaheen Shah Afridi scoring a lively 33 off 16 balls and Sufiyan Muqeem contributing 10, but Pakistan could only manage 127 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.

IND bowling unit, led by Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Axar Patel, was clinical in execution. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for just 18 runs, while Axar Patel provided crucial breakthroughs with 2 wickets for 18 runs. Jasprit Bumrah maintained tight lines and lengths, claiming 2 wickets and keeping Pakistan under pressure throughout the innings. Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy also bowled economically, ensuring that Pakistan never had the momentum to build a substantial total.

In response, India’s chase was anchored by a blistering 31 from Abhishek Sharma off 13 balls, giving the innings an immediate thrust. Shubman Gill got an early start but fell cheaply for 10, and Tilak Varma played a responsible innings of 31, keeping India on course. The captain, Suryakumar Yadav, was the star with the bat, remaining unbeaten on 47 off 37 balls, combining calculated shot-making with smart running between the wickets. Shivam Dube finished the innings strongly, scoring an unbeaten 10 off 7 balls, as India crossed the finish line in just 15.5 overs with seven wickets in hand, leaving Pakistan chasing shadows.

This match highlighted India’s superiority in both bowling and batting depth. Pakistan’s batting collapse and inability to build partnerships was their undoing, while India’s bowlers exploited every mistake and their batsmen chased down the target without any real pressure. Kuldeep Yadav’s performance, both in containing runs and taking wickets, was decisive and deservedly earned him the Player of the Match award for the game.

The victory sets up India with momentum in Group A, while Pakistan will need to regroup quickly to stay in contention. The match was a clear demonstration of India’s balanced side, capable of dominating in all departments of the game.
