UAE vs IND (2nd Match) – Highlights

India made a thumping statement in their Asia Cup 2025 opener as they dismantled the United Arab Emirates by nine wickets in Dubai. It was a completely one-sided affair where the gulf in class between the two teams was on full display. The match barely lasted 18 overs, with India wrapping things up inside five overs of their chase after bowling U.A.E. out for just 57 runs.

The contest began with U.A.E. opting to bat first, hoping to put up a competitive total against the mighty Indian bowling attack. Their innings, however, never really took off. Alishan Sharafu provided the only spark with a quick 22 off 17 deliveries, striking a couple of boundaries and a six. Skipper Muhammad Waseem also contributed 19, but after their dismissals, the batting unit collapsed in dramatic fashion.

Kuldeep Yadav was the chief architect of U.A.E.’s downfall. The left-arm wrist spinner bowled a mesmerizing spell of 2.1 overs, conceding just 7 runs and picking up four wickets. His variations were far too good for the inexperienced batting lineup. Supporting him brilliantly was Shivam Dube, who struck with three wickets for just four runs. Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel chipped in with one wicket apiece, while Jasprit Bumrah accounted for the dangerous Alishan Sharafu.

From a relatively stable 47 for 2, U.A.E. suffered an astonishing collapse, losing their final eight wickets for just 10 runs. They were bundled out for 57 in 13.1 overs, registering one of the lowest totals in Asia Cup history. For India, the bowling unit worked like a well-oiled machine, with Kuldeep deservingly taking home the Player of the Match award for his brilliance.

Chasing a mere 58, India’s batting approach was expectedly aggressive. Abhishek Sharma led the way at the top with a breezy 30 off just 16 deliveries, including two fours and three sixes. He was dismissed trying to go for another big shot, but by then the damage was already done. Shubman Gill ensured there were no hiccups, smashing an unbeaten 20 off 9 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav finished things off with a quick 7 off 2 deliveries. India completed the chase in just 4.3 overs, winning by nine wickets with 93 balls to spare.

The result highlighted the contrasting levels of experience and skill between the two sides. While U.A.E. will need to reflect on their shot selection and temperament under pressure, India will be pleased with how clinical they were in all departments. With such a commanding win, India has sent a strong warning to the rest of the teams in the tournament.
