SRH vs KKR (68th Match) – Highlights

In what can only be described as a T20 batting masterclass, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bulldozed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a colossal 110-run margin in the 68th match of the IPL 2025 at Delhi. The carnage was headlined by the ruthless Heinrich Klaasen, who hammered an unbeaten 105 off just 39 balls in an innings that was pure destruction wrapped in elegance.

It all began with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma setting the tone. The duo launched an early onslaught that put KKR bowlers under pressure from the get-go. Abhishek fired a 16-ball 32, while Head took it up several notches with a blazing 76 from 40 deliveries. The pair added 92 runs in just 6.5 overs before Abhishek fell to Sunil Narine, the only KKR bowler who managed to extract any joy from the flat pitch.

But it was after Head’s dismissal that the real fireworks started. Heinrich Klaasen, the South African power-hitter, turned the Arun Jaitley Stadium into a launchpad. With seven boundaries and nine bombs, he turned KKR’s field placements into mere decoration. Ishan Kishan played the perfect foil with a 20-ball 29, but it was Klaasen who dominated, lifting SRH to a jaw-dropping 278 for 3—the second-highest team total in IPL history.

KKR’s bowling was all over the place. Anrich Nortje was taken to the cleaners with figures of 0 for 60, while Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell fared no better. Narine picked up two wickets, but even he was expensive at 10.5 an over. The extras column—adding 24 runs—added insult to injury, with 14 wides further compounding KKR’s woes.

Chasing a gargantuan target of 279, KKR looked like they were hoping for divine intervention rather than a run chase. Quinton de Kock, surprisingly subdued, crawled to 9 off 13. Just as Narine looked ready to erupt, Unadkat clipped the fuse with surgical accuracy. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane managed a 15-run cameo, but wickets kept falling like dominoes.

That pressure got to youngsters like Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh, while Andre Russell faced just one deliver. Manish and Harshit’s efforts—37 and 34—offered hope, though by 15 overs, the result was clear as day. Eshan Malinga and Harsh Dubey claimed 6 wickets combined, in support of Unadkat’s clinical spell. It wasn’t a chase; it was a cautionary tale—168 on the board, but the gap to the target was a canyon.

With this thumping win, SRH sent a bold message to the rest of the league heading into the final stages. Heinrich Klaasen was rightly named Player of the Match with a fantasy-defying performance that fans will remember for a long time.
