SRH vs RCB (65th Match) – Highlights
Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a power-packed performance in Lucknow to seal a commanding 42-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 65th match of IPL 2025. On a belter of a pitch, SRH’s top order fired with purpose, anchored by a sensational unbeaten 94 from Ishan Kishan, which proved to be the game-changing knock of the night. With this win, SRH keeps their playoff hopes mathematically alive while denting RCB’s momentum heading into the final stages of the league.
Sunrisers launched their innings in style, thanks to a flying start from Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The pair blazed away to 54 in just under four overs, setting the tone early. Abhishek’s quickfire 34 off 17 and Head’s 17 from 10 gave SRH the perfect launchpad. However, it was Ishan Kishan who took control of the innings and transformed it into a spectacle. The left-hander played with remarkable composure and aggression, crafting his unbeaten 94 off just 48 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes. His ability to find gaps and rotate strike was as impressive as his boundary-hitting.
Heinrich Klaasen (24 off 13), Aniket Verma (26 off 9), and captain Pat Cummins (13 off 6) all made useful scoring contributions. SRH posted a daunting 231 for 6. The only bowler for the RCB to keep things tight was Romario Shepherd (2 for 14 off 2), while Ngidi, Suyash Sharma, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the other bowling options that SRH smashed.
Chasing a massive 232, RCB needed something extraordinary, and Phil Salt seemed ready to provide it. With a quickfire 62 off 32, he set the tone, as Kohli kept the momentum going with a composed 43 from 25 balls. Their partnership of 80 runs in under seven overs gave RCB a fighting chance. But once Kohli fell to Harsh Dubey and Salt followed soon after, the chase started to lose steam. Mayank Agarwal and Rajat Patidar struggled to keep the momentum alive, and the middle order crumbled under pressure.
SRH’s bowling was led brilliantly by captain Pat Cummins, who finished with 3 for 28 in his four overs, including key wickets at crucial junctures. Malinga’s double strike dismantled the middle order, while Unadkat and Nitish Kumar Reddy added to the damage with well-timed breakthroughs. RCB were bowled out for 189 in 19.5 overs, falling well short despite a strong start.
Ishan Kishan was deservedly named Player of the Match for his scintillating knock, which not only anchored the innings but also demoralized the RCB bowlers. His form comes as a massive boost for SRH as they enter the final stretch of the season.
