PBKS vs DC (66th Match) – Highlights
The 66th match of the IPL 2025 season saw a spectacular run-fest under the Jaipur lights, as Delhi Capitals chased down a stiff target of 207 with six wickets in hand and three balls to spare. Sameer Rizvi brought mayhem in 25 deliveries, converting tension into triumph with a swaggering flourish.
Put in to bat first, Punjab Kings started cautiously but lost Priyansh Arya early to the guile of Mustafizur Rahman. Like twin hurricanes, Prabhsimran and Inglis tore through the early overs, leaving scorched grass and puzzled bowlers. Inglis was especially brutal, smashing 32 off just 12 balls with a strike rate of 266.66 before being stumped by Tristan Stubbs off Vipraj Nigam. Prabhsimran followed soon after, but the foundation had been laid.
Captain Shreyas Iyer played the anchor with an elegant 53 from 34 balls, stitching valuable middle-overs partnerships. However, it was Marcus Stoinis who delivered the late fireworks, hammering 44 not out from a mere 16 balls, including three fours and four towering sixes. His finishing cameo powered PBKS to a competitive total of 206/8 despite some disciplined bowling from Mustafizur, who ended with figures of 3 for 33. Two for Kuldeep, two for Vipraj—a tidy tale of teamwork, while Mukesh’s spell read more like a cautionary tale.
Chasing 207, Delhi Capitals got off to a brisk start with KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis putting on 55 runs inside the powerplay. Rahul was in fine touch but fell to a sharp catch off Jansen for 35. Du Plessis and Karun Nair kept the tempo going, with Nair playing the sheet anchor role to perfection. He scored a composed 44 off 27 before being bowled by Harpreet Brar, who delivered a tidy spell and picked up two key wickets.
The match, however, shifted momentum when Sameer Rizvi walked in at 93/3. With DC needing over 11 runs per over, Rizvi displayed calm aggression, picking the right bowlers to target. He launched into the PBKS attack with towering sixes and well-placed boundaries, never letting the required rate slip beyond control. His calculated hitting, especially against Azmatullah Omarzai and Marcus Stoinis, took the game away from Punjab.
At the other end, Tristan Stubbs provided valuable support with an unbeaten 18 off 14 balls and saw to it, that there were no further hiccups. DC finished the chase at 208/4 in 19.3 overs, winning by six wickets in one of the more fun games of the season.
