TSK vs SF (10th Match) – Highlights
In arguably one of the most explosive matches of the Major League Cricket 2025 season, the SF made a statement by chasing down a seemingly insurmountable target set by the TDK. The fans at the Dallas venue were treated to a sensational batting display from both teams, but the aggressiveness of the Unicorns was in a league of its own, amid the chaos of T20, Faf’s century stood like a lighthouse—bold, brilliant, and guiding Texas to glory.
Fateh put the Texas Super Kings into bat and had a great start with Devon Conway and du Plessis batting nicely together. Conway batted steadily early in the innings, but it was du Plessis who battered Fateh’s attack to all areas of the ground. Conway scored 23 runs off 23 balls, with du Plessis smashing 100 runs off 51 balls with 6 fours and 7 sixes in a brutal display of hitting. Thanks to his fluent strokeplay, Texas Super Kings found themselves in complete control at 166/2 in 16 overs. Saiteja Mukkamalla chipped in nicely with a fluent 38 runs off 24 balls.
However, after the exit of du Plessis almost immediately after he reached his century, the momentum waned a little bit. Late innings contributions from Calvin Savage and Daryl Mitchell helped TSK to a respectable score of 198/5 off their 20 overs. With figures of 2/34, Haris Rauf stood out as the pick of the bowlers, ably supported by Xavier Bartlett, who struck twice at key moments.
From the very first ball, the Unicorns showed they meant business in their pursuit. Captain Matthew Short set the tone early by blasting a brutal 61 off 29 balls, with six fours and four sixes. But the devastation was primarily done by Finn Allen, who looked as if he was in a different stratosphere while smashing 78 from just 35 balls, with an astounding eight sixes. The openers put on 117 in under nine overs, taking the game completely away from Texas.
The Texas bowlers found no relief even after both openers had been dismissed, requiring bowlers who had previously given their all to keep it going. Jake Fraser-McGurk continued the momentum laid down by the openers with 37 from 25 deliveries and kept the required rate under control. By the time he departed with just two runs required to win, it was too late; he had done the damage. Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Hassan Khan wrapped up the innings without any fuss, sealing the seven-wicket victory with 23 deliveries remaining.
Texas’ bowlers will want to forget this outing. Noor Ahmad, going for 50 in his four overs, was dismal, but everyone else was worse, ranging between 13-17 runs per over. Adam Milne and Mohammad Mohsin managed one wicket each, but the Unicorns used their batting lineup to make sure there was no genuine pressure on Texas.
The overall demolition of the Texas team allowed the SF to move to the top of the table, and while Texas will have to meet quickly to regroup after their bowling unit was destroyed in light of scoring 198 on the board, the Unicorns today look like the team to beat in the 2022 tournament.
