WI vs PAK (3rd ODI) – Highlights

A flawless all-round effort saw West Indies demolish Pakistan by a whopping 202 runs in the third ODI at Tarouba, securing the series with flair. The hosts, led by captain Shai Hope’s masterclass with the bat and Jayden Seales’ sensational bowling spell, completely outplayed a Pakistan side that looked out of sorts from start to finish.

Opting to bat first, West Indies made a cautious start after losing Brandon King early to Naseem Shah. Evin Lewis tried to steady the innings with a patient 37, but the innings truly belonged to Shai Hope. The West Indies skipper played an authoritative knock, crafting an unbeaten 120 off just 94 balls. His innings was a perfect mix of control and aggression, peppered with 10 fours and five sixes, ensuring the scoring rate never dipped for long. Carty’s laboured 17 and Rutherford’s 15 left Hope carrying most of the batting burden.

The acceleration came in the final overs, first through Roston Chase’s quick-fire 36 off 29 balls and then Justin Greaves’ explosive 43 off just 24 deliveries. Greaves’ late assault, including four boundaries and two sixes, propelled West Indies to a commanding total of 294 for six in their allotted 50 overs. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed’s economical 2 for 34 from nine overs was a rare bright spot, while Naseem Shah also picked up two wickets but proved expensive.

Pakistan’s reply unraveled in dramatic fashion. Jayden Seales ripped through the top order with a devastating new-ball spell. Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan all fell cheaply, with Seales removing all three inside the first three overs. The early collapse left Pakistan reeling at 8 for three, and when Babar Azam was trapped lbw by Seales for just 9, the visitors had no way back.

Gudakesh Motie joined the party with two wickets, including the stubborn Salman Agha, who top-scored for Pakistan with 30, and young Hasan Nawaz, who made 13 from 40 balls. Roston Chase added further misery by dismissing Hussain Talat, while Seales returned to finish the job in style. The fast bowler ended with career-best figures of 6 for 18, dismantling Pakistan in just 29.2 overs for a paltry 92.

Hope’s brilliance at the top and Seales’ match-winning burst ensured West Indies claimed a statement victory. Hope was deservedly named Player of the Match, while Seales, with 10 wickets across the series, took home the Player of the Series award. The result not only gave West Indies a series win but also sent a strong message about their ODI credentials ahead of upcoming tournaments.
