MI Was All Fire, SRH All Ash 5 Moments That Told the Story

If you are a Mumbai Indians (MI) supporter, you are probably strutting around with a little extra swagger these days. The boys in blue are hot and played a flawless game against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Match 41 of IPL 2025 saw MI achieve victory number four in a row, in very comfortable fashion, with a 7-wicket victory, and still 26 balls remaining. But aside from the result, the game contained some individual brilliance and milestones that would have excited any cricket nerd. So let’s rewind the clock and illustrate five important moments that made this game so memorable.

Rohit Sharma Smashes Past 12,000 T20 Runs

If anyone had any doubt left about Rohit Sharma’s T20 flair, it should be absolved after the match. The former MI captain was pure class, smashing 70 off 46 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 3 sweet sixes. But the biggest mask was that Rohit went past the 12,000-run landmark in T20s, becoming the second Indian (after Virat Kohli) and eighth player worldwide to do so. He set the tone of the chase, and MI never looked back. It is not just forms– it is vintage Rohit, and we love it.

300 T20 Wickets for Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah isn’t always the most charismatic player on the pitch, but he knows how to make it count. We didn’t see him at his most dangerous tonight, nevertheless, Bumrah took an important wicket of Heinrich Klaasen in his last over – only his one wicket of the evening, but it was an important one. That wicket also marked Bumrah as the 300th overall T20 wicket, making him one of the best fast bowlers in T20 history. Bumrah may have only just come back from injury, but he is a big-match player to the core.

SRH’s Powerplay Disaster

MI Was All Fire, SRH All Ash: 5 Moments That Told the Story SRH’s Powerplay Disaster

We all know that T20 games can change very quickly, but the Sunrisers never quite managed to get off the ground in this one. Their batting collapse at the top of the order was disastrous; they lost four wickets in just over five overs. After the powerplay (6 overs), SRH found themselves at an anemic 24/4, which was their 4th-lowest powerplay score in IPL history. What a horror show; MI’s Ben Stokes and Jason Behrendorff started the procession and ripped through the predominantly right-handed top order of SRH like it was hot butter. From that moment on, they never stood a chance to win the match, despite a slight late resistance from Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar.

Jaydev Unadkat’s Century of Wickets

Let’s discuss a professional milestone with ambivalent feelings. The city, however, is that he is now the slowest pacer to do it. Unadkat, nevertheless, we must give him credit for being able to take the early wicket of Ryan Rickelton and did bowling with some discipline through his four overs. While it may not have affected the outcome of the match, it’s a career milestone to join a group of bowlers that not many players get the opportunity to be a part of.

MI’s Fourth Straight Win

While the individual milestones were remarkable, the big story could be MI’s revival in the tournament. The victory has lifted them to third place on the points table, and they seem to once again be serious challengers. They just seem to be more of a unit — Rohit is leading the batting, the bowlers are taking early wickets, and there’s a real growth in team confidence and positivity. With momentum, prototypically experienced players, and MI fans happy as we head toward the playoffs, it won’t be long before MI has a big win.
