IPL 2025? Full-on madness—in the best way! There were ridiculous sixes, impossible run-chases; simply some of the most electric performances we have ever witnessed. And in all this madness, there were five knocks that cricket fans were buzzing about. Some were from (young) players who were stealing the limelight, while others were from (old) players who were flipping the script. These knocks were not just single knocks on a batting card—each knock was a true spectacle. So, let’s rewind and recap our top five best knocks at IPL 2025!
Abhishek Sharma’s 141: A Record-Breaking Masterclass in High-Pressure Chasing
Abhishek Sharma
There’s hitting for power, and then there is Abhishek Sharma chasing down 246 like he was late for dinner. In a record-breaking match against Punjab Kings, Abhishek scored a colossal 141 in just 55 balls – perhaps the most powerful innings in IPL history. Travis Head added a quick 66, but Sharma stole the show with 14 fours and 10 sixes, and this was not a run chase. The chase was completed with 9 balls to spare, and Abhishek exited the ground with the highest-ever score by an Indian in IPL. Incredible.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Century: The 14-Year-Old Prodigy Who Broke the Internet
Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Up until April 28, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was relatively unknown to most people. That changed quickly. At the tender age of 14, Suryavanshi made a name for himself at IPL 2025 with a blistering 101 off only 38 balls, including a fifty off only 17 balls. Too young to drive, but still able to drive the ball into the boundary like a pro. The Rajasthan Royals managed to chase down 209 runs with 25 balls left unused. Through all the fanfare of celebrity, fan rushes, and social media fun, it is clear that the future is bright.
Shreyas Iyer’s 87: Captain Cool When It Mattered Most
Shreyas Iyer
You see, this was not just an awesome knock; this was a knock for the ages. The stakes? IPL Qualifier 2. The opposition? Mumbai Indians. The task at hand? PBKS started poorly, but out came Shreyas Iyer, the calm amongst the chaos. A majestic 87 not out off 41 balls, Iyer’s innings was not only technically brilliant, but it was highly emotional, with clutch sixes and a captain’s “This is my intent” statement. With 23 runs required from the final two overs, Iyer flicked the pressure away, and, by crazy, hitting four sixes in one over.
Jitesh Sharma’s 85: A Middle-Order Masterclass in Match-Winning Brilliance
Jitesh Sharma
Jitesh Sharma entered a crunch game against LSG when his team was wobbling. But Jitesh had other ideas. He smashed an incredible 85 from just 33 balls with eight fours and six massive sixes, making the big total look small. What was so impressive was how he did it, with style and composed aggression, forming a partnership of 107 runs with Mayank Agarwal that changed the game.
Priyansh Arya’s 103: A Stunning Blend of Composure and Firepower
Priyansh Arya
What are the chances a team starts 83/5 and ends up on 219? Keep that in mind, and you can figure out precisely when Priyansh Arya got there. His astounding 103 for 42 balls against CSK was one of the great solo rescue jobs—squeaky clean, and articulate. Arya, with Shashank Singh, then raised the direction of the innings for Punjab, after rescuing a collapse, and then letting Punjab set a large total.
Clearly, Iyer’s key knock under pressure, then 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi rewrote the record books, IPL 2025 had shock, swagger and sixes for every single game. Exit these runs—they signalled. Which knock gave you the goosebumps? Or, which knock fell under the radar?
