Ambrose advises more running and bowling in practice: Taskin

Caribbean former star pacer Kurtley Ambrose is in the commentary room in the ninth season of BPL. There are not many foreign stars in field cricket in the current season of BPL. However, this former pacer from the Caribbean is maintaining the atmosphere at the commentary room. In his cricketing career he had exceptional pace and control. This experienced pacer gave advice to Bangladeshi pacer Taskin. Taskin spoke to the media about that.

Taskin said, Ambrose believes that a bowler needs to bowl more and run more to develop himself, not by going to the gym. This pacer of Team Bangladesh said, “Ambrose told me, I don’t agree to go to the gym, the gym will make you stronger, but you have to pay attention to bowling. Don’t try to be a bodybuilder, but try to be perfect by bowling more. Pacers are at risk of injury. Yes, so as a pacer you have to be fit, keep your body flexible. So the most important thing is to run and bowl more. The more you run and bowl more in practice, the body will get used to the pressure. It’s good for your career too. will.”

Ambrose also told Taskin how to run. In this context, Taskin told the media, “He told me, you are a cricketer, you are not a runner, so it is not the job of bowlers to run 100 meters in 10 seconds, but focus on bowling. To bowl well, you should also focus on strengthening your leg muscles. Because while bowling, This is very important. I see many people spend a lot of time in the gym building muscles to bowl well. But after bowling 4 overs they get tired. Gym is not very important for bowling. The first condition to bowl well is to bowl a lot, then the body. Everything will start working together. It will add another dimension to your bowling.”

Statistics show that Taskin Ahmed is currently the best pacer in Team Bangladesh. Whether home or away, he is one of the team’s mainstays. The Caribbean star also thinks that Taskin is on the right track in his career. He told Taskin, “There is no substitute for performance on the field, it’s important to perform everywhere. Playing well on any pitch is a big challenge. I judge cricketers by seeing if they can perform well in all conditions. There are many who play well at home. Even if you play well, you cannot play the game abroad. It is a limitation. To be a great cricketer, you have to play well in all adverse conditions. You have to survive in all conditions. You are on the right track, Taskin.”

According to Ambrose, today’s cricket has become a batsman’s game. Whereas the task for the bowlers is comparatively tougher. It should be noted that this 6 feet 7 inch Caribbean pacer has taken 405 wickets in 98 Tests and 225 wickets in ODIs in his cricket career.

Now it remains to be seen how much Taskin can use Ambrose’s advice.
